Images – Guidelines and How-To
Yes, you can attach images in your posts. There are two ways:
Hotlinking
To hotlink an image, simply click the “img” tab in the top of the posting window, post the link to the image (hosted on your own Flickr or Photobucket account or a website you operate, of course, because we don’t want to steal others’ bandwidth), and click OK. The image will appear where you put the resulting code in the post.
Uploading
As a Contributor, you’re not currently able to upload files. For now, you can put a link to an image at the end of your post, explaining what it is, and we can review and then snag it for you.
What about thumbnails for the front page?
Want to put a thumbnail with your post? The same two methods are available.
Go to the Custom Fields section, below the posting window.
If you’re posting in Humor and Satire, select “hpbottom” from the Name drop-down list. If you’re posting anywhere else, select “thumbnail”.
Into the Value field, place the full weblink to the image that is on your Flickr, Photobucket, or other account.
Humor and Satire thumbnails should be 100×100 or smaller, and all other thumbnails should be 70 x 70 or smaller.
Image guidelines:
Sizes are noted above.
Please remember that this site is not age-restricted. Images which display nudity or obscenity will be censored, deleted, or placed in the Featured scrolling window, depending upon our mood at the moment and how much we like the image.
We’re looking forward to checking out what you want to show us!
