Fundamentalist Hopes to Boycott California Schools
Randy Thomasson’s fundamentalist website “savecalifornia.com” is now promoting a boycott of California schools for Harvey Milk Day (and/or week). Better still, he’d like you to home-school your kids to keep them safe from “sexual indoctrination” (sex education).
Founder, president, and apparent only active member Randy Thomasson expressed his horror at the passage of what he terms “Harvey Milk Gay Day”:
Sadly, children in public schools will now have even more in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination. This provides the strongest impetus yet for loving parents to remove their children from anti-family public schools.
’Harvey Milk Day’ teaches children as young as five years old to admire the life and values of the notorious homosexual activist Harvey Milk.
Nothing unusual here, I think. But then Thomasson veers off into what can only be described as the bizarre fantasies of a sexually repressed lunatic:
The ‘suitable commemorative exercises’ that are part of ‘Harvey Milk Day’ can easily result in cross-dressing exercises, ‘LGBT pride’ parades and mock gay weddings on school campuses — everything Harvey Milk supported.
Nowhere can evidence be found that Harvey Milk supported encouraging schoolchildren to cross-dress, engage in mock gay weddings, or join in gay pride parades. Perhaps Mr. Thomasson’s lewd imaginings are more the result of his own perverse pedophilic desires . . . which would explain his bizarre obsession with homosexuals and cross-dressing kids.
In the course of a month-long petition drive, Thomasson and pals managed to gather slightly over 14,000 signatures on petitions to ask Governor Schwarzzenegger to veto Harvey Milk Day legislation. That’s right, out of an estimated 37,000,000 residents, fewer than .05% were interested enough to sign Randy’s petition!
Given the passage of Proposition 8 in 2008, I speculate that this says more about Mr. Thomasson’s limited outreach capabilities than it does about California voters.
Mind you, Randy Thomasson doesn’t just want to dictate your and your child’s sexuality. He wants far more involvement!
