Don Wildmon’s American Family Association continues its months-long boycott of PepsiCo products, urging millions to join the cause. Why? PepsiCo refused when Wildmon demanded they stop supporting gay rights.
Thus far, the AFA has found just over 350,000 people around the world willing to join their boycott. Why, that’s nearly 0.1% of the American population! Surely, Pepsi is really hurting financially . . . right?
On the boycotpepsico website, Wildmon states his reasons to boycott.
Reasons for the boycott
AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused — choosing to support the homosexual activists.
Pepsi has made no effort to hide their support for the homosexual agenda:
* American Family Association asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war and not support the homosexual agenda. PepsiCo refused. The company continues to give financial support to homosexual organizations. PepsiCo gave $500,000 to Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and another $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total of $1,000,000 was used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace. HRC and PFLAG were major supporters of efforts to defeat Proposition 8 in California, which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC gave $2.3 million to the effort to defeat Prop 8.
* PepsiCo requires all employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training where they are taught to accept homosexuality. [I first read this as "attempt". My bad. -Mike]
* PepsiCo helped sponsor the TV program Family Guy which pushs the homosexual agenda and denigrates Christ. In one episode, at a straight meeting, a speaker talks with gays about Jesus and tells them, “Jesus Christ, who hates many people, but none more than homosexuals.” [Isn't this Don's message? I don't see the problem. -Mike]
* PepsiCo supports homosexual publications, which feature page after page of nude and semi-nude photos of men in suggestive positions, with advertising. [How many hours did Don and his staff spend poring over those magazines, looking for ads from any PepsiCo product? Did he bring them into his prayer closet? Inquiring minds want to know! -Mike]
* PepsiCo gave thousands of dollars to join the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, an organization that lobbies for homosexual marriage.
* PepsiCo sponsors “gay pride” parades across America, including New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix and Cleveland.
* PepsiCo, while promoting the homosexual agenda, refuses to give one penny to help those trapped in this destructive and unhealthy lifestyle.
Is the destructive and unhealthy lifestyle homosexuality, or is it the drinking of caramel-colored high fructose corn syrup and phosphoric acid in carbonated water? I mean, Pepsi’s product line is ample reason to boycott . . . But where they donate their funds isn’t.
Shame on AFA. If they were truly about supporting families in America they would focus on the teenage pregnancy rate, the highest in any industrial nation in the world. Or how about the “heterosexual John’s” who have unprotected sex with Prostitutes & then have unprotected sex with their wives. Or the children that go to bed hungry every night… Those are issues that are “evil & destructive.” Stop putting your energy on the civil rights of gays & lesbians & if the department stores say “Merry Christmas.” Your priorities are not about families in America they are about your own agenda of bigotry and just damn well silly. Happy Holidays!
Christians including Don do not hate homosexuals, they hate their actions. And I think your poll is unfair to those who wish to reject PepsiCo. We don't hate the homosexuals, we love them, we merely HATE their actions.
I think people like Joni need to mind their own business about other people's affairs as long as they are not causing them actual harm, which they aren't. This isn't the Roman Ages where you can espouse the right to dictate other's lifestyles. In fact, if you are against them having the same rights as you, then you aren't very American, you just want the title of it.

Who are you to care what consenting adults do?
