Sarah Palin’s Retarded Platform: More Trigs!
Today, Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska. While many are speculating about her motives, a section of her announcement makes it crystal clear: She wants to make a difference by promoting mental handicaps, increasing the number of voters who will support her retarded platform!
During her speech, Palin mentioned that her family was a major factor in her decision to leave the position of Governor. She specifically mentioned the horrid strain on her family resulting from a local blogger Photoshopping a local conservative talk-show’s face in place of her retarded son Trig’s in a picture of Palin and Trig.
Yes, here is the very image that caused Palin to resign!
Now, in her press conference, Palin announced that she wants to leave the office and make a difference in the world. “We need MORE Trigs,” she says, “not fewer!” Hear it for yourself!
That’s right. Palin is about to embark on a career of causing babies to be born retarded. Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, crack addiction, or a good old-fashioned kick to the pregnant tummy, it doesn’t matter to Palin. She wants the world to have more Trigs.
Other than fueling a greater need for social services, think how this could benefit Palin politically. She already tests well with the Retarded demographic, and also the Retarded Sympathizer demographic.
Imagine the world Palin is trying to create, in which instead of a superior race, Palin breeds a stupider race. 20 years from now, she’ll only be in her late 60s. She’ll be able to run for President on the Retard ticket . . . no doubt with full support of Retardeds, Retarded Sympathizers, and the Politically-Correct.
Next time around, when Palin is told “Your platform is completely retarded”, she will be able to say, “You betcha! That’s just what my constituents want!”

I’m not a Palin supporter, but I’d like to thank you for proving a point she made in her speech.
Regardless of how you interpret “The World needs more Trigs”, which may have been puzzling and poorly phrased, I’m certain your mind-numbing interpretation is completely wrong, warped, disgusting, and equally as puzzling.
Her views on abortion are quite clear, so its likely about her Pro-Life stance. However, after reading this venomous garbage, its clear the world could use less of “you”. People like yourself are the true “metally challenged” and highly unstable to boot – as your column proves. Therefore, IMO, her point is justifiable.
What the hell is wrong with you? You’re supposed to be an adult, not an adolescent ass clown who derides a child. When it comes down to it, you will have to look yourself in the face every day and know “you went there.”

It really IS all about Trig. In the midst of an investigation for embezzlement, Palin is stepping down because someone photoshopped a picture of her kid. Her impending political doom is not relevant at all, right?

I just stumbled across this posting and would like to ask the web server to please take it down, for the sake of decency.
I am insulted beyond words, first as a human, secondly as an individuals who has had the extreme privilege of working with autistic children at various points in my life, and thirdly as the relative of a down syndrome teenager.
The motive behind these comments is the same that manifests itself in racism, sexism, and every sort of bigotry: Identifying “the other” and claiming some sort of superiority over that group.

This conclusion is laughable, but let me explain my initial remark, which was simply putting your column in context.
The truth is that many people choose not have children who have been identified as down syndrome. Ms. Palin’s remark was to suggest that rather than seeing them as a bane to society, we need to realize they are a tremendous asset. By saying we need “more” she simply suggests we need to stop eliminating individuals we arbitrarily deem “socially unacceptable.”
If you are opposed to this idea, you are implying satisfaction with the situation now–and the situation now IS less, many less than are actually conceived.
No, leave it up, webmaster. It shows the visceral hatred the pro-abortion, eugenics crowd have for the weakest among us. This is the mindset that brought us Tuskegee and Mengele. I’d like to know if we can have Mr. Smith arrested for hate crimes. Under the new legislation under consideration are handicapped children protected? Because Mr. Smith’s mother did such a horrible job of raising him perhaps a little time in a jail cell would increase his understanding of the stupidity of his article. There’s no such thing as hate-speech laws in the US (some European countries forbid it, though), so as long as the person isn’t advocating violence (not including abortion, which isn’t violence, anyway), they can’t be prosecuted. This is very disheartening to hear, indeed. The fact that it’s so public makes it even worse! However, I have seen this time and time again in my Christian counseling practice, and this behavior is always sad to see.
Parents grow attached to their little bundle of sin, and soon their logic twists and they see them as being “special” and “one of God’s children”. The parents soon forget that it was their own sin that produced a child such as their own.

We are all on a spectrum on health, and deeming some people “normal” and some “deformed” is an entirely subjective practice. Would spiritually perfect parents create a physically “perfect” child? Just what would that look like?
Furthermore, as a Christian don’t you ascribe to the teachings of the New Testament over those of “many cultures, ancient and modern?” Why would Jesus have healed the sick and lepers–the worst of social outcasts–if he held them, as you say, “in contempt”? I don’t know of him ever speaking a harsh word or blaming them (or their ancestors) for their condition.

Well, first of all, Palin is not a great leader. She’s actually quite insane. I remember back during the campaign, when her unscripted remarks didn’t make any sense. Now, here prepared material doesn’t make sense either! She’s really the gift that keeps on giving.
Actually, I’m pretty sure that Palin would loose those court cases. She’d have to prove that they were acting maliciously, and, unless you’re one of those crazy Palin-fetishing conspiracy theorists (“Oh no! The liberal media is out to get me! Whatever shall I do!”), they don’t seem to be. They’ve been reporting actual rumors about a corruption investigation. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was true, seeing how many slimeballs are currently in the GOP leadership.
And, to Ms. Ferin, let me say one thing: if you really do think abortion is murder, then do something about it! If i thought that millions of murders were going on every day (Note from T: Abortion isn’t murder, as fetuses aren’t alive until they’re born: notice how we celebrate birthdays, not “conception days” or “third trimester days”) I wouldn’t be sitting around flaming on some blog; I would be out there making sure that the murderers got their just recompense, via violence, if the government weren’t doing so. But you’re not, because you haven’t paired a logical leap of faith with the rhetorical leap that you’ve already made.
Do you really think liberals are so evil that we just get our kicks from killing babies? We don’t think that abortion is wrong because we don’t consider fetuses to be real people yet. Plain and simple: we’re not a bunch of mini-Hitlers.

If you really are a nurse (which to me appears questionable, due to your obvious lack of stability, coherence, diction, or common sense), I would hope that you would know that a fetus is not a baby. It is a fetus, something that is not alive. It will be alive when it is born, and therefore fully developed. And, until then, the mother is infinitely more important, and it is her fundamental right make decisions about her own body. Also, I would hope that you would know that there is no such thing as a pill for stupidity, although you would obviously benefit from such an invention.

Of course she’s a target for the DNC: she’s a Republican (ex)governor. Her vision of the United States is something that will never come to pass: we’ve tried it for the last eight years in its watered-down form, and even that didn’t work. No, she’s a bumbling wreck: the laughing stock of much of the nation (and the World, for that matter). There are many infinately more intelligent, well-spoken, and sensible conservative women out there. How about Kay Bailey Hutchinson?
Sarah Palin is nothing but an embarrassment for the GOP. Sure, she’ll have more visibility, and she’ll gain financially from her resignation. The vast majority of Democrats AND Independents think she is unfit for any office, and rightly so. She does not have the temperment or intelligence neccessary to govern. The GOP no longer represents America: it represents the South, parts of the Midwest, and elderly, uneducated white people. The tide is turning, both demographically and socially, and unless the GOP leadership realizes this (they haven’t), and removes nutcases like Huckabee and Palin from the national spotlight, they will go the way of the Whigs.
I do hope she runs for president, and that the GOP nominates her. She’ll lose spectacularly, and President Obama will have another four years to continue fixing the mess that Republicans have made. Her own admission, that she resigned because she was tired of ethical complaints filed by her opponents (Nota bene: If you are tired of ethics complaints, stop violating the rules, Sarah “GOP funded shopping spree” Palin!), shows that, if her statements are true, she does not have the fortitude needed for high office. True leaders don’t resign when the going gets tough (on both sides of the aisle: Democrats are guilty of the same cowardice).

There are many comments very insulting to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their parents.
I also find very rude from Shirlee that she never asked Sarah Palin’s permission to create a website in behalf of Trig.
Marianne, I agree that there are plenty of rude comments made by others, especially that Sadram or whatever he is. Some of the parents of Down Syndrome kids have been pretty hateful, as well. But I don’t see where the intent behind the site, or Shirlee or Pony (is that her husband?) are rude.
True, Shirlee should have asked the Palins for permission before launching a website like that, but do you ask the permission of everyone you pray for? I sure don’t! If I think someone needs my prayers, then they get my prayers.

Here here! Prayers to “God” are the last things these people need. The Big Man Upstairs doesn’t cure Down’s. Rather, one should do something tangible and concrete to help people like Trig live up to their potential, such as working with Down’s Syndrome Association (UK) or the NDSS (US)

It seems odd that a Christian would publicly call for G-d to heal one person. It seems like she’s testing G-d, which I think is a bad idea.
You should ask Shirlee Burnett that question, Geoff. I’ve reviewed her site myself, and she’s quite correct that Jesus did repeatedly promise to grant any request made to Him. So many prayers do not receive the expected result because people without faith are the ones praying.
Christians & “Hate” Bills
If “hate bill”-obsessed Congress [and Obama] can’t protect Christians from “gays” as much as it wants to protect “gays” from Christians, will Congress be surprised if it can’t protect itself from most everyone? If “hate bills” are forced on captive Americans, they’ll still find ways to sneakily continue to “plant” Biblical messages everywhere. By doing so they’ll hasten God’s judgment on their oppressors as revealed in Proverbs 19:1. Since Congress can’t seem to legislate “morality,” it’s making up for it by legislating “immorality”!
