Poll: Should Christians Celebrate Michael Jackson’s Death?

Michael Jackson, once known as the King of Pop — more recently as the Queen of Weird — died today of a heart attack.

Christians everywhere wonder: Should we be happy that this oft-accused but never-convicted child molestor and corruptor of America’s values has died before he could release yet another assault on American society?

Jackson was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. In 2007, he converted to Islam, following in the footsteps of failed singer Jermaine Jackson.

At no point is it clear that Jackson was ever a Christian of any stripe. Are his various difficulties and perversions then a surprise? He never had Jesus, so how could he ever get his life together?

Just as atheists have no morals without Jesus, neither do Jehovah’s Witnesses or Muslims! It’s just not possible, when all morality comes from God, and Jesus is God!

hey you morons god doesn’t exist and never has we humans are the god-man

    • Jenny says:

Yes, someone who can’t even write a complete sentence is qualified to call others “morons”.

Why is it you atheists are almost always witless dweebs who think they’re intelligent?

    • chrisn9ne says:

That’s the same lie that Satan used in the Bible “You can be your own God” S basicallyt the “New Age” lie is REALLY the old age lie. Same messaghe Aleister Crowley the known Satanist used to portray, who ironically MJ and many many musicians are fans of.

Crowley taught that through his satanism you could become a musical genius which is why these mainstream soul sell outs are obsessed with Aleister

      • Jenny says:

It also shows us why popular music is in its current shoddy state. When’s the last time you heard a “musical genius” on the radio? HA!

  2. WWJD? says:

Shame on you. What a horribly un-Christian thing to say. Way to pervert the word of God to make it fit your sick agenda, further contributing to the rapidly deteriorating view of Christianity among non-Christians and unorthodox Christians who don’t swallow your fanatical and hateful views.

Would Jesus celebrate a person’s death? Would he talk unkindly of them after they were gone and unable to defend themselves? Would he judge someone he’d never even met? If so, He’s not the almighty. all-loving savior I thought him to be. Your opinion of the man and the scandals that followed him is 100% irrelevant. He was someone’s son, brother, father and friend, and for you to show such harsh judgment of a person you’ve never met is about the most sadistic thing one could imagine.

Have a nice life stewing in your backward, perverse interpretation of the Christian religion.

    • Jenny says:

Will Jesus celebrate a person’s death? Well, He will unleash angels who will brutally slaughter of 1/3 of all mankind; do you think He’ll be weeping at the time?

      Revelation 9

13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

Why, yes, I do think Jesus will speak unkindly of people after their deaths, at Resurrection, to their faces . . . including many who THINK they’re Saved!

      Matthew 7

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

There are no people He hasn’t met; He knows everyone, even you. But since you prefer to worship a “love god” of your own imagination instead of Him, He will cast you into Hell. The Bible says so:

      John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The Bible makes it clear that God loves those who love Him, not everyone. Maybe you should read the Bible to find out who God is, instead of making up your own little hippie “love god” and pretending He’s in the Bible, and attacking those who present a Biblical view instead of the lies that your Father Feelgood has told you.

Or, you can have a nice afterlife, burning for all eternity in the unquenchable fires of Hell, which God has created specifically to punish those who refuse to follow His Word, the Bible.

    • Mr. Green says:

Shame on you. What a horribly un-Christian thing to say. Way to pervert the word of God to make it fit your sick agenda, further contributing to the rapidly deteriorating view of Christianity among non-Christians and unorthodox Christians who don’t swallow your fanatical and hateful views.

Where did Paliban Mom express any hateful views?

Saying that he was often accused but never convicted of child molestation? Fact.

That he was a Jehovah’s Witness until he converted to Islam? Fact.

That he died of a heart attack? Fact. As far as we know yet, anyway.

The only hate I see is you, in your hatred of and intolerance for a Christian point of view, which is that anyone who dies without Jesus goes to Hell. That’s what the Bible says.

This is a website for Christians who follow the Bible, not “unorthodox” Christians who call themselves Christian, but ignore God’s Word because they don’t like it and think they know better.

    • duke says:

Christians are fools who are afraid of God. I used to be one of those fools. I hope you all don’t really think that the bible should be translated literally. I really love that Christians can pass judgment and criticize other people when aren’t you as “Christians” not supposed to do that? You’re nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

      • Paliban Mom says:

I see you’ve never bothered to read the Bible, Duke.

The Bible never says Christians should not judge; rather, we are commanded to judge with righteous judgment. RIGHTEOUS judgment, not hypocritical judgment. “Judge not, lest ye also be judged. For by what measure ye mete, it shall be meted out to you.”

That’s a warning against HYPOCRITICAL judgment; judging someone by a standard we ourselves do not meet. It is NOT a commandment not to judge.

Why is reading comprehension so pathetically poor in this country, Duke?

Riddle me this, Duke: If you think the Bible should not be taken literally, then how should it be taken? Is “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live” metaphorical? Or is God just trying to confuse us, so He can cast us into Hell? What blasphemy do you believe, Duke? How will you insult your Creator today?

Duke, why do you hate God? Did you not get the pony you asked for at Christmas? Do you have horrible acne? What are you blaming Him for?

  3. isah says:

    you are one ignorant bastard.

  4. Rose says:

Is it not possible to speak the truth and not resort to being vile?? It is appointed to man once to die, after that, judgement. Why not leave that to God? You were not there when MJ died niether do you know him personally except for what you think you know via media.

Be careful that MJ is not be in heaven doing the moonwalk and will subsequently be waving at you roasting in hell. Or better still, God who has the best sense of humor, makes you his room -mate and get him to sing a special hymn to you called “You wanna be starting something ” while grabbing his crotch endlessing – just for this rather stupid article! Wisdom is the principle thing ..and like I said to my 5 year old – please use your head! selah.

    • Jenny says:

You’re offended by the question being asked? We put up a poll and asked people to share their thoughts. We drew no conclusion foryou.

      • Rose says:

There are some questions that reflect a persons heart AND out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

What do you hope to accomplish by asking if christians should rejoice? Who in their right mind asks if people should celebrate the death of anyone regardless of who there are?

Why not solicit a prayer for the salvation of the remaining of his family who still live if you care so much? why are you how defensive and explainind that you did not draw conclusions for us etc? This ridiculous write up forces me to conclude that you are either (A)Well meaning but unable to express yourself appropraitely or (B) just plain nutty! The christain thing to do is hope for (A) though I suspect its a long shot!

        • Jenny says:

I cannot speak for my mother, but I will defend her in her absence. Does that make me “nutty”, Rose?

Are you incapable of comprehending that my mother, not me, wrote the post and presented the poll?

I assume she hoped to spark discussion about the Terms of Salvation which God put forth; it certainly does appear that Michael ignored them.

        • Rose says:

          Heres a “POLL” for you.

Should we all REJOICE if you die a painful death of Cadiac Arrest suddenly tomorrow morning? OR your mother, father, sister, brother die in a horrible car crash by close of business Friday? Should we do a block party with pizza, and diet coke (I only drink diet…sorry) or perhaps some home made couscous with a sprinkling of olive oil and sliced avocados (yum..yum!)?

See how crazy this poll is? I hope it serves as a mirror to you. Good luck my sister – and remember – use your head!

          • Rose says:

That goes for mommy-dearest too! :)

          • Jenny says:

Rose, I believe you made a typo in your first sentence.

            It’s spelled “TROLL”, not “POLL”.

Why do you hate God’s Word, Rose?

Are you upset that Michael Jackson rejected God’s Word and will be punished for it? Or have you rejected Him, too? Do you wear blended fabrics, Rose? Have lustful thoughts? Wear pants?

Are you sinful and rejecting God, Rose?

            • Rose says:

Wait! I know this one! You accuse me of hating God because you think it will justify your own foolishness? Been there, done that! Do not worry – God loves you. Just keep reading the word of God – as you seem to be doing in your picture – there is hope for your future! I love you gal BUT I am sure glad you oe youe mother are not the way, the truth and the life! wow..the world would be screwed! :) Ok Sweetheart – you win so you have the last word. I am done answering a fool according to his folly for one evening. Good night baby :) sleep tight and remember to pray for you best friend – ME – who did you think? :) you have my email – send note again – I love your “polls” or is it “pulls” – these typos!

              • Rose says:

Or by the way – you sound angry with me – are you? I guess you did not like my “poll” asking that we rejoice at your demise? Sorry sweetie – it was just an example I did draw any “conclusions” for you. Remember – anger is a sin and you need to make it to heaven so please remain your cheerful self!

                Yawnnnn..now I am getting very sleepy…ta ta! :)

                • Jenny says:

I’m not at all angry, Rose. I do have things to do besides wait for you to post again, of course.

So, why not answer my questions?

Are you upset that Michael Jackson rejected God’s Word and will be punished for it? Or have you rejected Him, too?

Are you sinful and rejecting God, Rose?

  5. Sarah says:

    Wow,
I did not know that Christians celebrated someone dying?? Generally that means what? You’re happy they went to Heaven yes? But in this case Im’ thinking you all don’t believe he’s going to Heaven… so you’re basically celebrating a man dying cause you think he was evil or didn’t deserve to live cause of the religion he ended up being??…

Sorry, but I was never taught that was how a Christian acted or thought.

    • Jenny says:

Fortunately, the article my mother posted is a question, with a poll. She didn’t make a statement, she asked a question. You have an opportunity to provide input, Sarah.

Tell me, Sarah, have you ever read the Bible, or do you just believe what people tell you it says?

  6. Ryan says:

The Bible is a collection of books that were written by men trying to describe their sense of spirituality in metaphor. Some books were deliberately excluded based on the decisions of men who weren’t “prophets” (if any such thing exists), men who were trying to extend the appeal of their new power structure, Christianity. Christian ignorance stems from blind faith in a book that should not be taken literally.

You all hope with all your might that there is a heaven and hell, that you cannot see or prove in any way, simply to make yourselves feel better. I am sure that I have a life to live here, now, and I will enjoy it. I do enjoy it. YOU are wasting the only life you have because of a mistaken fear in something (hell)that, in all probability, doesn’t exist. I am a good person, and I follow a morality of basic human decency, but I refuse to waste my Life, unlike all of you.

And that scares the shit out of you, so you cling to your religion even tighter. Good luck.

    • Jenny says:

Oh, so you’re an atheist. Congratulations, you have thrown off the shackles of superstitious thinking.

You say that the Bible is metaphorical, even when there is no indication whatsoever in its text that the Bible is metaphorical. How is “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live” metaphorical, Ryan?

I assume you say this because you haven’t read the Bible. You also won’t bother; you’ll continue to present assertions about a book you’ve never read.

Unlike most atheists, I see you can write in complete sentences. That’s refreshing.

I’m sorry that you have chosen Hell, Ryan.

  7. Paige says:

Wow, I cannot believe that people who are going to church to be a better person would honestly write this. You make me sick and if this isnt a sin than Idk what is. Screw off. RIP MJ.

    • Jenny says:

Paige, is that a “yes, he deserved to die and go to Hell because he was a pedophile and an Islamist”, or a “no, he was misunderstood and deserves compassion”, or was it a “I believe that God loves everybody, even though the Bible says He hates most people and will torture all who refuse to follow Him in the unquenchable fires of Hell for all eternity”?

I’m not really sure what your post means.

By the way, one does not go to church “to be a better person”. Religions aren’t about self-improvement. One goes to church to learn God’s Word, what God loves and hates, and what He orders us to do if we wish to be Saved from His Hell. If you want “to be a better person”, find a therapist, not a religion.

Say, Paige . . . does coming onto a Christian news site, uninvited, and telling the hostesses to “screw off” demonstrate what a “good” person you are? If so, I’m glad not to be your sort of “good” person.

  8. James Jones says:

The negative influence of the teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on Michael and his family have been either downplayed or totally ignored for as long as the Jackson Family has received public attention. For those readers who really want to know what life is like to be reared in the WatchTower Cult, nothing beats real world scenarios, and of real world scenarios, nothing beats actual civil and criminal court cases.

The following website summarizes 900 court cases and lawsuits involving children of Jehovah’s Witness Parents. The summaries demonstrate how JW Families rear their children and live life day-to-day. Also included are nearly 400 CRIMINAL cases — most involving MURDERS:

DIVORCE, BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS, AND OTHER LEGAL ISSUES AFFECTING CHILDREN OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES

    http://jwdivorces.bravehost.com

  9. MP Helmholtz says:

Good riddance. Michael Jackson was a Satanist that performed necromancy, vampirism, and animal sacrifice. The “Islam conversion” was a publicity stunt meant to trick people. He was a Satanist until the day he died. Praise be Spaceship Jesus for taking him down!

Keep up the good work, Paliban Mom and Jenny, and don’t mind the haters. They are just warped by Michael Jackson’s subliminal messages in his songs.

  10. Michael says:

Hey, have you seen this news article?
New details about Michael Jackson’s Death Emerge
I was wondering if you were going to blog about this…

  11. Moontumbler says:

They are mourning for a performer. They are mourning for a man who’s works changed their lives, choosing to think of the good things before the horrible.

If you don’t want to mourn then don’t. You are entitled to believe whatever you want to believe, but don’t lump your feelings to an entire minority because of it. It isn’t fair to the people who wanted to speak for themselves.

Also for all those Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims and atheists, they probably think the same about your beliefs.

    • Paliban Mom says:

Yes, people are mourning for a performer whom they’ve never met, and who wouldn’t have given them the time of day. Their lives were somehow changed by songs encouraging them to “beat it”, performed by a “man” who settled a child molestation accusation for over $20M in hush money.

They have an opportunity, should they choose to vote in my poll, to select an option of Jackson being horribly misunderstood and taken advantage of by people who wanted his money. While I and every Christian knows that this Islamist will spend eternity in Hell for rejecting Jesus, I didn’t create a push-poll where every answer indicated the truth. That’s because it’s an opinion poll, not a poll of people’s knowledge of facts.

Moonie, if you don’t want to vote in my poll then don’t. It isn’t fair to people who want to speak about God’s Word and engage in their Constitutionally-protected freedom of speech.

The opinions of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims, atheists, and other people who deny Jesus and will go to Hell is of no concern to me, or to God! Only the Lord’s opinion matters in the end!

  12. Katje says:

“Just as atheists have no morals without Jesus…”

    You silly, silly person!

    • Paliban Mom says:

      What’s silly, Katje?

All morality comes from God. Atheists believe that there is nobody to punish them if they do wrong; therefore, they have no basis for morality.

We addressed this here: Article on Atheists’ Lack of Morals

That’s why seven states will not allow atheists to testify under oath, or hold elected office. See Article:

In the United States, seven state constitutions officially include religious tests that would effectively prevent atheists from holding public office, and in some cases being a juror/witness

Why do you suppose that is? Because they openly deny God, and without God, they can’t be trusted!

  13. Ale says:

I am amazed to read these posts.

This poll could be any poll but labelling it a “Christian” saddens me.

If a poll is to reflect people’s opinion, then give them a real opportunity to express their opinion. Proposing “Yes”, “No” as options would have been sufficient to get to the point. Options such as “Yes, he deserved to go to Hell, I hate him” add absolutely nothing but hatred.

If asked whether I should celebrate the death of a man, my answer if no, not because that man may have been misjudged by other men, but because the celebration of death on Earth belongs to a religion I do not perceive as Christian.

I will die as this man did, and I believe God will judge me, take me to Heaven or send me to Hell. I long for Heaven, because I long for the presence of God and His love. I do my best to be as close to God as a human can be: attending church, reading the Bible, praying, etc. Yet, this is no guarantee that I’ll belong to Heaven.

God as I see him in the Bible is a God of Life, Love, Forgiveness and also a God whose Anger and Justice is to be feared. Call me a Heretic if you want, but none of us can pretend to understand God. The Bible is our link to God’s word and our understanding of the Bible is diverse, as our diversity of Christian religions shows. None of them is superior to the other. They are different interpretations which fill different hearts and a same desire: Feeling close to God.

As someone who identifies as a Christian, I feel that regardless of the nature of a man’s beliefs and acts, I am not entitled to pass judgement upon him.

A man has died and I pray to God to comfort his children and family. More than anyhing, I ask him to give them the necessary strenght to cope with the cruelty of our words and use we make of His.

  14. Mr. Green says:

Do you base your opinion of God on reading the Bible, or on your own fantasies about what God would do, if God would only do what YOU want Him to do?

  15. Tracii H. (aka "WWJD?") says:

Though I hesitate to pull the race card in any discussion, one underlying theme has become painfully clear to me throughout this whole situation– the theme of racism.

Where were your “unbiased” polls when a 56-year-old Woody Allen was boning his 22 year old stepdaughter, who had known him as a father figure all her life? Or when Roman Polanski pled guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl? Where was your outrage when Kenneth Lay of Enron–whose greed led him to lie, cheat and rob people of their entire life savings–died a death similar to Michael Jackson’s in 2006? And what about the large-scale crimes of Oliver North, Bernie Madoff, and all the other numerous WHITE/non-Black murderers, thieves, and rapists of the world?

This form of discrimination is so subtle most people don’t even realize it exists, but it’s there. The media is to blame for the bulk of it–choosing to magnify certain situations while brushing over others–but it’s time we take responsibility for our part in it as well. FOX News, CNN, and all the other various media outlets have become virtual “false idols” (that’s Biblespeak for those who need it) for most Americans, shaping our psyches in a way that no other medium can compare to. Anyone who’s brainwashed with the same information day in and day out will retain at least SOME of those views; in this case, the media’s oversaturation of Michael Jackson’s alleged crimes and simultaneous downplaying of others’.

I’m not here to argue about whether the Bible should be interpreted literally or figuratively, or whether one brand of Christianity is more “correct” than another. I just want people to try thinking for themselves once in a while–whether it’s in regards to Michael Jackson’s legacy, your interpretation of the Bible, or anything else.

(And before anyone makes any further assumptions about my color, class or creed, let me say that I’m a white person from a small Southern town raised in a Southern Baptist community, and even I can see the hypocrisy and underlying racism in your views. In other words, your “ugly” is showing–maybe you should try a little harder to hide it).

On that note, I’m respectfully bowing out of this discussion based on MY interpretation of a quote I once heard:

    “Don’t argue with fools,
because people from a distance can’t tell
    who is who.”

    • Jenny says:

Where were your “unbiased” polls when a 56-year-old Woody Allen was boning his 22 year old stepdaughter, who had known him as a father figure all her life?

This site has only been in operation since October of 2008. Sorry, dear, we weren’t conducting polls when these things you mention happened. We didn’t do a poll on Bernie Madoff, because his guilt is a foregone conclusion. Nobody, even his wife, supports the man who stole $50B.

You probably didn’t bother to read any article on this site other than that about Michael Jackson. I wager you’re searching the Internet for people saying bad things about him, and spewing your bigoted drivel everywhere, aren’t you?

You haven’t seen our updates on Sarah Palin, and our disgust at her news conference yesterday . . . or our poll asking why people think she resigned. You haven’t seen our reporting of the rumors that an embezzlement indictment is in her near future. And you probably never figured out that the name of this site is partially based on HER NAME! (See http://www.palibandaily.com/about/paliban-history/ for details.)

Your own deep-seated bigotry shows in your ridiculous accusation of racism. FOR SHAME!

  16. Paul says:

    You forgot:
“Yes, that means more children for our priests and clergymen to molest!”

Glad to be of help! :)

  17. Anna Marie says:

    MICHAEL THE NARC-ANGEL

Millions of little members of the worldwide F.F.A. (Future Followers of the Antichrist) have finally learned how to find a certain part of their lower anatomy and quickly touch it while dancing – thanks to Michael Jackson, the highest paid Lower Anatomy Toucher of all time! Special thanks also go to the Jesus-bashing, Hell-bound Hollywood moguls who were just as quick to see higher profits in lower anatomies! [Just saw this opinion on the web. Other grabby items on MSN, Google, etc. include "Separation of Raunch and State," "David Letterman's Hate, Etc.," "Tribulation Index becomes Rapture Index," and "Bible Verses Obama Avoids." - something for everyone!]

  18. Wendy says:

    Michael was innocent.
This is a perfect example of why many people hate so-called “Christians”…with their little “holier than thou” attitude.
Michael had more Christianity in his thumb than the so-called “Christians” that walk around with their noses in the air feeling superior to other people. They are horrible examples to other people.
