Poll – Atheists Support Terrorists
In a newly-released poll, it is shown that 58% of Americans who avoid church services support the “rights” of terrorists over Americans. We can’t say we’re surprised.
The recent Pew Research Center poll studied 742 Americans. Of these were separated out “white evangelicals”, “white mainstream Protestants”, “white Catholics”, and “religiously unaffiliated”.
They were asked how often they attend services, and then asked, “Do you think the use of torture against suspected terrorists in order to gain important information can often be justified, sometimes be justified, rarely be justified, or never be justified?” Torture was not defined, but may be understood from recent news reports to include pouring water onto their faces, making them stand still, and dressing them in itchy wool sweaters. Basically, making them uncomfortable.
Of those who attend services seldom or never, only 42% thought making terrorists uncomfortable was often or sometimes justified! 40% of the “unaffiliated” group shared this position.
We see here that the absence of God in their lives has led to these sad creatures favoring terrorist monsters over their fellow man. How can anyone not find this incredibly disturbing? We were disgusted at the immorality of these so-called “people”.
We’re also pleased to announce that more than 6 out of 10 white evangelicals believe that the safety of Godly Christian Americans outweighs the comfort of enemy combatants.

Having actually visited the Pew Research poll myself, I would have to most strongly disagree with your conclusions.
The one group who clearly DO support torture are evangelical Christians, while the “religiously unaffiliated” (NB: NOT specifically atheists) stand out as the group LEAST in support of torture.
Furthermore, the whole tenor of this piece bleeds racial and ethnic vilification – especially given your obvious pride that 70% regular church-goers are the ones obviously the most pleased their government is willing to torture “foreign infidels” without restraint. So where does that leave your “Christian morality” then?
Hypocrites.
(Not expecting this comment to be published!)
“The one group who clearly DO support torture are evangelical Christians, while the “religiously unaffiliated” (NB: NOT specifically atheists) stand out as the group LEAST in support of torture.”
That’s exactly what the article says. Can’t you read?
58% of these atheists (and “religiously unaffiliated”) put the rights of terrorists ahead of Americans’ lives.
Where do you see anything in the article about race or ethnicity? There is no reference to “foreign infidels” in the article whatsoever. You introduced that term as an attack.
Why must you God-mocking liberals always use your (frequently false) claims of bigotry when you encounter someone who doesn’t agree with you? Is it because you know you haven’t a leg to stand upon?
I imagine that’s what liberals call “tolerance”. You’ll tolerate anyone else, as long as their views agree completely with yours.
Hypocrites, indeed!
