"Ex-Masturbators" turning young people to Christ.

The problem that true Christians face in these troubled times is how to turn the minds of young people away from the sinfulness they are, sadly, drawn to and inundated with these days.  Everywhere a young person looks they’re all too likely to see their sexuality treated as an acceptable part of their personality, in direct contravention to the will of God as expressed through the Bible.  Combating this insidious notion that sexual urges are in any way natural is the foremost front in the war we Christians wage for the heards, minds, and souls of our nations young people, and fortunately, one organization has invented a novel idea for how to win it.

The good people at the Passion for Christ Movement (http://P4CM.com) have recently announced their bold new line of “EX” T-shirts, where proud young Christians can wear the sins of their past lives on their sleeves, as it were.  By publically denying acceptance of their sexual identities, these brave teens are sure to start a dialogue with other young people, eager to understand why they would be so proud to be free of the sinful compulsions of self-pleasure.

Proud P4CM member Dameco tactfully shares her harrowing experience freeing herself from masturbation on her blog:

“I struggled with masturbation for many years but this wasn’t the only sexually immoral thing that I was enslaved to. I started masturbating as early as 7th or 8^th grade, but overall my imprisonment to lust started as early as 4 or 5 years of age. When I was a little girl, I had a friend that I played with.  Something must have happened to her because it was from playing with her that I had my first sexual experience. After this one time experience I wasn’t the same and  I developed homosexual tendencies as well. The seed of lust was planted and grew to maturity in my heart. I went from “humping” the floors, to sexually stimulate myself, to full on masturbation,  which became my most shameful secret…

Then I tried to break free, I found that those same desires tracked me down like a Mississippi Slave catcher. I had never had so much temptation to sin by masturbating in my whole life. I kept giving in and giving in. It was hard to last one day, much less two, without doing it.  This lasted from June 2005 to September 2005. Until for 2 and half months, I managed to stop. Temptations were strong. There were times I’d have to run out of my dorm room or find a public place to be in because I couldn’t be alone when I was tempted. This was huge for me because I was used to falling to this sin daily. However, I backslide due to unforgiveness.”

Her story does end happily, fortunately, and she manages to leave her sinful lifestyle of experiencing regular sexual pleasure.  It is a lucky thing that she recognized at such an early age that her own sexual awareness was a vile, disgusting thing, and yet such is the power of sin that we are all powerless to simply avoid it as some of us would like to believe.  As Demeco’s story demonstrates, the temptation to lead a sexually healthy lifestyle is an insidious one indeed, and a hard one to overcome, sinfulness slipping its way inside us, snatching us unaware and pounding at the door to our souls, and letting it in only lets it explode inside of us, spreading its sinful seed within our hearts, and so we must be ever-vigilant in preventing such from ever happening through a public dialogue that starts from the biblical perspective.  Consider, what young person wouldn’t be ashamed to be a knowing masturbator while standing next to another proud person displaying for all the world that they masturbate no longer!

Passion for Christ is selling other shirts in addition to their emotionally resonant “Ex-Masturbator” line. Other shirts bear the legend “Ex-Slave,” “Ex-Rebel” and “Ex-Fornicator.” Shirts like this are certain to provoke important dialogues that will surely convert so many people to the loving embrace of Christ, and nothing can be more important than that.  Passion for Christ deserves to be commended for taking the stand they have, not simply for the scope of their goal, but the wisdom of their vision.  After all, what teenager wouldnt want to proudly state to the world that they are a devout “Ex-Fornicator?”
