Coloradan Follows God's Law, Executes Nonbeliever Co-Workers
Here’s a fine example of what happens when people take the Bible literally. -Ed.
Derik Bonestroo, a lift operator at Eldora Mountain Resort (a ski resort near Boulder), took it upon himself to execute all his non-Christian co-workers. Was this a Godly, or a non-Godly act?
As noted in today’s Denver Post, Bonestroo arrived at his former place of employment on December 30, dressed in black and carrying a Glock semiautomatic handgun. He entered the pump house, where the other lift operators were gathered for a staff meeting, and announced, “If you’re not Christian, you’re gonna die!”
He then started shooting.
Bonestroo successfully killed the general manager, Brian Mahon, but the other nonbelievers escaped the Lord’s fury. (Not so lucky was Bonestroo’s cat, found later by sheriff’s deputies. Apparently, his cat was not Christian, either.)
Since Bonestroo knew just who he should be shooting at, we can safely assume he’d had discussions with his co-workers about religion. No doubt, they’d tried to steer him away from God, perhaps into Wicca, or Obamaism, or Atheism, or Islam.
God says that there’s a right way and a wrong way to handle those who refuse Him and try to lead His people astray. The right way?
Deuteronomy 13
6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
So, was Bonestroo’s action Godly? Well, not entirely.
He did execute a nonbeliever. He also tried to execute others. According to God’s law as shown above, this was Godly.
But if we read further, God specifies HOW to kill them:
10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
So, a final rating for this action?
Sorry, Derik. Not Godly.
Bonestroo has disobeyed God’s law by changing the method of execution. For this sin, I expect he will be sent straight to Hell.

What would your verdict have been if he did round up, and summarily stoned his targeted employees?
Additionally, just curious for anyone who gives this the go-ahead: would you then, by logical conclusion, support similar policy throughout the nation?
Confused, you sure did pick the right name for yourself.
Did you even read what I wrote?
Derik followed God’s law right up to his choice of weapon. Those people were trying to turn him away from his Lord, and he was absolutely right under God’s law to execute them. Had he stoned them as commanded, he’d have been 100% Godly.
You’re obviously Confused about the idea of Christian Reconstruction. Its primary goal is to institute 100% Biblical law throughout the nation, then the world.
How the hell can you advocate for the murder of innocents? You are insane and cruel. You prove that the religious are not moral, but a bunch of brainwashed scumbags who find heinous crimes excusable if they don't believe in your fairy tail. Shame on you and anyone who agrees with you.
I can only assume you missed the editor's note at the beginning of the article, and the name of this site.
Bonestroo did, in fact, follow (generally) what the Bible commands . . . and that is the point of Live4Him's two-year-old satirical piece, published about 6 months before I took over here. If Tea Party Christians have their way and install a Christian theocracy, Biblical law will be enforced. The Biblical punishment for attempting to lead people to other religions (proselytizing) is execution via stoning. According to the Bible, nonbelievers aren't innocent.
Sarah Palin hasn't been advertising that part of her Christian Reconstruction agenda, but it's there. Just read the book, and find out just what the Tea Party Christians are truly after.
One man stoning a whole crew of employees would sure be hard. They’d be running every which way.
Better if he recruited a group of Eldora employees to help him, and stone one or two at a time!
